Archives for the month of: February, 2008

I’m sitting in jiffy lube waiting for the convertible’s oil change and killing time by looking though pictures on my phone and found this one from the last shuttle launch. I didn’t think I had caught the shuttle itsself but i swear you can kinda see it. Follow the vapor trail along the palm tree and you can see the little light speck on the other side of the frons, just above the street light :)

Stuff that should be on DVD soon if not already: Juno, Enchanted, Ratatouille, Across the Universe, Bee Movie, Gone Baby Gone
Movies that are still in the theater or not released yet.. the links go to their trailers, have fun! :) Definitely, Maybe, Semi-Pro, The Other Boyeln Girl, Be Kind Rewind, Horton Hears a Who, Smart People, Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Sex and the City The Movie, Harold & Kumar 2, Kung Fu Panda, Wall-E, The Dark Knight, He’s Just Not That Into You, The Happening

So I’ve watched Las Vegas on NBC for awhile now .. I’m a fan .. there’s also not much else on Friday nights that I like watching .. anyways .. apparently NBC announced today that they’re canceling the show. Fine, whatever, I’ll get over it .. EXCEPT they left with a huge cliffhanger that might haunt me for the rest of my days. Okay, not really, but the last episode that aired, they left the pregnant character clutching her belly and showed blood on her hands. Now c’mon .. they have to come back with a mini season or something to wrap up the stories don’t they?? Ugh I hate when they dont wrap up shows, and its not like this was a first year show, this was its 5th season. Oh well.

Yesterday I went to the seafood fest with my neighbor. We thought we were going to walk there, but luckily her husband drove us to where the traffic started and dropped us off, saving us a mile long walk that seemed alot longer then a mile. So we got there a half hour after it opened .. and all the parking WAS FULL! Unbelievable that so many people show up for this thing, and they get there before it opens. So first things first, I have to get cash and we buy tickets, the ATM fee this year was $5, and tickets were $1.25 each and most meals cost 3 to 4 tickets. Ouch. There were really only 2 things I wanted, one was the souvenir beer mug that cost 7 tickets! We have one from last year that we use daily for water, so I had to get it. 16oz beers were only 2 tickets, not so bad. So we got our tickets and our beers and started looking for her friends. They had gotten there before 10:30 am and set up a canopy tent with lots of chairs underneath, it was perfect to hang out at. I got some fried scallops and she got her linguine in clam sauce & shrimp kababob and we headed back to the tent. A few hours later we headed back home .. her husband drove us back on their ATV this time .. we were hanging on for dear life while he drove 45 mph home .. it was crazy scary. After a much needed shower, I took a really good nap .. it was a fun day :)

There’s nothing like having your little one sleeping on your chest :) I also have little girl sleeping across my lap … Its hot here :)

Is tomorrow .. I really didn’t think I was going to go this year, but I was driving by today and saw all the beer trucks and booths ready to go, and I started to realize I really wanted some fried seafood and beer. Well it turns out my neighbors are going, and taking their ATVs & golfcart (you get to pass the parking line) .. so I’m going to tag along with them for a few hours :) If anybody wants to meet up email, call or text me, and get there early .. it opens at 11 .. I’d say aim to be there when it opens .. otherwise you’ll be stuck in line (and you still might be in line then).

Last fall I made this mix for Liz .. and I’ve been listening to it ever since. Its pretty rare for me to keep listening to a mix for more then a month, so I decided that this should be shared with the world. Plus I just listened to it like 3 or 4 times in a row while sewing tonight :) I’m not exactly sure why I like it so much, there are a few songs from commercials and off of Gray’s Anatomy, and alot of girl singers, the music is pretty chill, I guess that makes good sewing music, not really distracting, easy to sing along with :) I hope you guys have a chance to take a listen.

I picked up quilt kits last fall, fully intending to make quilts for my little girls for Christmas. Well Christmas came and went .. and last weekend I decided to give Halle’s a shot before her 2nd birthday party. To my surprise I had the whole front (the quilt part) done in less then 2 hours. Today I finished it off by added batting and the back piece, so now its finished, and its actually snuggly :) I didnt actually ‘quilt’ the whole thing .. meaning stitching through all the layers to keep them together forever. I’m nervous that it would look terrible on the back, so I’ll try with the kit I bought for myself later :)

As a bonus here are a couple puppy pictures. The other day Daisy was lounging on the futon with her head on a pillow and the blanket gently draped over her .. but I didn’t have a camera. So I got up for the camera and of course she left her spot .. but a few minutes later she was back almost in the same position .. she has quite the life huh?

The flash always attracts the puppies

This shot is just funny .. that’s Daisy on top of Big Boy (I think she fell on him) while he’s yawning :)

It wasn’t flickr or youtube, but a plugin I installed a few months ago to look at the statistics of this site, just for shits and giggles .. but apparently it was screwing things up :) Goodbye wassup!

Also .. I canceled sewing wednesday apparently, as I’m sitting on my couch not in the craft room :)
