Wii Fit .. first impressions

Its fun! First it does all sorts of calculations by your age, weight, height .. my Wii Fit age is 44, my BMI is normal (I knew that). Then the Wii helps you pick a goal .. mine suggested a BMI of 22 which would require me to loose 10 or 11 lbs (i forgot already, but my BMI was only 23.something) .. I would be happy to lose that! Wii Fit is alot like brain age, where it suggests you train every day and your ‘fit age’ will improve. The first tests and the first yoga poses I did .. the system told me I had excellent posture and balance. Then I did the tree pose, which I suck at normally, and yeah .. I was terrible. I was a little disappointed the system didnt recommend short cuts, like putting your foot to your calf rather then your thigh muscle to start out .. which is the way I did it .. and I still sucked I went on to play the balance games, where I scored ‘unbalanced’ every time, The aerobics exercises were fun, especially hoola hoop which i’m proud to say I finally got the hang of. The first time I did it, i let the hoop fall .. and they let you know loud and clear that YOU FAILED.

I like how it tracks your ‘fit minutes’ rather then you guessing how much time you exercised by the amount of time you’re standing infront of the TV. I played Wii Fit for 53 minutes today (according to the wii) and I banked up 26 fit minutes. I’d like to try to start around 30 minutes daily, but today I didn’t change out of my jeans, so I didn’t really do any strength training or extra aerobics.

The best part of wii fit for me right now? Is that your mii’s workout with you. This summer I brought my Wii to Hive and a bunch of my friends made their own mii’s. So .. when I did step aerobics, Jason was on my left and Angelle was on my right. When I was jogging, Nikki & Jason happened to pass me running together, then my dad went by, a few mii’s I recognized were along the way cheering me on. Eventually I passed Big Tranny and felt so proud Anyways .. its almost like I’m exercising with my friends, and what could be better then that.

On this day: A Baby Shower For Liz & Ella

Towel Time

My dogs love when I take a shower. Yesterday, Daisy curled up and waited patiently on my bath mat while I soaped up. Why? I have no idea. She likes to lick the water off my legs, while I run away telling her to stop & leave me alone. Big Boy loves to jump into the shower (after the water is turned off) and try to lick up whatever he can. I make sure I rinse out all the extra soap because of that. I have a feeling its because we give them filtered water, and the tap water just tastes better to them. I really have no idea. But what I do know, is every once in a while I’ll leave a towel on the floor .. and man, do they love to roll on damp towels. Again, I dont know if its because of the water or maybe because it smells fresh and clean (big boy will also roll in air freshener .. and dead things) but they seem to really enjoy it.

This is just after I laid the towel down .. daisy is rubbing her nose in it.

Big boy comes to see what’s going on .. check out Daisy’s lip curl .. she didn’t get mad or make any noise, but doesn’t she look disgusted her brother showed up?

This is one of my favorite things Sean will cook for me. Well, he used to cook it, until I learned how Since there isn’t a real recipe, it took me a bit to learn. All my cooking experience comes from baking, where you have to follow a recipe closely. Cooking is more abstract, and I’m starting to ‘get it’. Of course the more you cook, the easier it gets

My latest mix CD for liz .. it was a little rushed because I wanted to give it to her Mother’s Day weekend (maybe I should’ve named it Happy Mother’s Day) .. anyways .. there are alot of chicks on this CD .. oh and the Miley Cyrus, that’s just for her, she’s a big Hanna Montana fan (bwhahaha Liz, the cat’s out of the bag!)

This morning Big Pup didn’t eat his breakfast .. so we went to the vet this afternoon where they discovered a ‘bug’ in his stool. They gave him some fluids under his skin (so he looked like a camel for a bit) and some meds to help with the stomach problems. Daisy also got some of the same medications, just in case. Hopefully all will be back to normal tomorrow

As for the fires, that update I got were that the fires were 40% contained. That surprises me because I cant see any plumes out there, although the horizon is all together very gray.

No news is good news ..

and as I wrote that title, a helicopter flew so close to our house I thought it was landing in our backyard. I followed it out front and apparently there’s a flare up south of us. But again, its downwind from us (thankfully)

But there’s nothing else to report on the fires around here. The fires west of us (Lowry) were the biggest fires burning at 11am so they were getting tons of attention. That seems to have worked. I dont see any ‘plumes’ just that the sky west of us looks gray. So no pictures .. there’s really nothing to see.

I did finally call the fire information line, out of curiosity. I expected it to have directions on how to report a fire, however, it was a recording reporting what fires they were currently battling. As of 1:45 the last update was at 11am (and it wasn’t much different from the 9am update). That number is 321-637-5550.

They have arrested somebody suspected of starting one of the Palm Bay Fires … go visit cfnews13.com or wesh.com claims they have video of his ‘take down’.
