Not much to see here …

But I’ll show you the flooded backyard anyways :) This is low lying wetland, so its expected to fill up .. but this is the fullest we’ve ever seen it.

This is from the corner of the house, where we tie the dogs out

Those of you who have been here might be able to recognize some of these shots. We have no downed trees, no shingles scattering through the yard or any real debris really. I took a walk out to get the mail and its the same story for all my neighbors, luckily. We lost our power for about 3 hours today but its back for now.

I’ve got 2 beers in the freezer cooling off, some sweet potato fries in the oven .. things are much better now that the power is back on :) We have a nice break in the action for a bit .. but I can see things building out over the water .. could be heading this way soon.

I’ve been updating twitter when I can’t get online .. so feel free to follow me and get all my updates!!

Hope everybody stays dry!

Today’s followup ..

My hematologist agrees with the ENT that most likely I have a virus. But .. because the only testing I’ve had so far has been on my neck, he’d feel better getting a CT scan of my chest, abdomen and pelvis. So today I had more bloodwork, scheduled the CT for next Thursday, and the results for the Thursday after that. So 2 more weeks for the complete all clear. He did say that he really doesn’t think we need to worry and not to stress out at all, that he only wants me to worry enough to get the tests done. I’ll def. feel better after the 28th.

Quick update :)

We got my results from the biopsy today, NO SIGN OF CANCER! Basically the biopsy they did only collected a few cells, but since there was nothing irregular he is more comfortable waiting it out rather then cutting me open for a full biopsy.  My ENT suggested waiting 2 months and coming back in to see how things were going. His #1 theory is that I have a virus similar to mono, and it just needs to run its course. My neck nodes haven’t seemed to increase over the past month he’s been seeing me, but I have a few new nodes in other areas that are enlarged (slightly), so I’m getting a 2nd opinion with my hematologist tomorrow morning.

Update on my meal / diet plan .. I do have breakfast, 2 low fat nutra grain eggos every morning .. for like .. the past 3 months or so :P I dont even think about my breakfast, so I didn’t include it :) I haven’t been following my plan as closely as I had planned. Tuesday I broke my pinky toe, so I didn’t feel like cooking. Wednesday night I ended up making the tacos, but today I waited until 2:30 to find something to eat, so I ended up with a chicken hotdog in a whole wheat bun. We also stopped at Outback tonight after getting my results .. so tonight’s dinner is gone too :P Tomorrow I have to figure out what to do with all the left over tacos, chicken breasts and hamburger that’s in my fridge :)

Oh Amazon.com .. What were you thinking?!?

Just got quite the interesting email from Amazon.com ..

We’ve noticed that customers who have purchased or rated Baby Massage Therapy: Newborns, Infants & Toddlers version2.0 have also purchased The Best of Penis Massage on DVD. For this reason, you might like to know that The Best of Penis Massage will be released on August 26, 2008.  You can pre-order yours by following the link below.

At first .. I thought it was a very clever spoof email for porn .. but then I realized that I really did buy the infant massage for Liz & Ella .. and this was a legit email! I’m sure they’re going to get a ton of complaints on this one :) (Yes, there was even a picture of the cover of the DVD .. no penises, but very suggestive)

On the bandwagon

Thank you to all the biggest loser girls for blogging your progress, you’ve inspired me to make an effort to eat healthier. Yesterday I even put together a meal plan for the week, which includes making lunches in the morning so that when I get hungry I can just grab and eat, rather then just grabbing the goldfish crackers :P I’ll be doubling up where I can for lunches and so that I can freeze meals for later. I even packed todays lunches in little boxes, filling in the empty space with baby carrots, almost bento style :) If I really pick up this habit I might really start making bento boxes, how fun!

My Week

I’m really falling behind on my Remember the Milk tasks .. so today I organized my tasks throughout the week based on their categories. I think this will really help me get things done without jumping all over the place like I usually do.

Monday  - Domestic Duties (aka, menu plan, grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, pick up clutter)
Tuesday – Bookkeeping
Wednesday - Programming / Design
Thursday – Sewing (start/finish some of the numerous projects that have been piling up, Dr. appt late afternoon)
Friday - Free Day
Saturday – Gardening
Sunday –  Photography Biz

I’ll let you know if this helps me get things done :)

My Favorite iPhone Apps

I know there are so many people out there sharing their favorite iPhone applications, I figured I’d let you know mine. I still have last year’s version, not the new 3G, but it has the same software as the 3G.

Solitaire City – This is my #1 time killer .. at the dog park, at dr. appts, waiting for my car to get serviced .. it comes in really handy. Plus its kinda awesome to see how you’re ranked in the world (resets daily).

midomi – I am totally addicted needing to know the titles of songs on TV or commercials that catch my attention. Midomi can actually find songs by you singing/humming them, by putting your phone upto a speaker or a few other ways. I have one song that I fell in love with at the Post Secret exhibit, and recently I heard it featured in a Olympic / Special Olympic commercial from Coke. I tried out midomi and it found the song right away - Breathe Me by Sia

Flashlight – I always use my phone for a flashlight around the house, this will keep the screen a solid white until you decide to turn it off :)

Twitterific – I love twitter, and this makes it easy to add an iPhone photo to a twitter update, as well as your location and other neat little features.

Weatherbug – If only they could animate their radar .. I would be in heaven!

Anyways .. if you’re thinking about an iPhone .. do it! You wont be disappointed :)
